Ireland is in the final stage of bidding to host the Rugby World Cup in 2023. In this short video former captain and legend Brian O’Driscoll among others describes just why we have the ambition and the confidence to host the biggest event in Rugby.
The winning bidder will be announced on November 15th with France and South Africa standing in our way. Recent reports suggested the French were prepared to pump an extra €35 million on top of the €120 million fee required by the hosts in order to secure victory.
Ireland have 12 stadia in their bid which includes the monstrous sized Croke Park, Aviva stadium and all the way down to the 18,000 capacity RDS in Dublin.
“A tournament like no other”….we certainly hope so.
