With the country starting to get back on its feet following Storm Emma and the ‘Beast From The East’ we’ve put together the latest transport updates and shop opening times. customers and public transport users have been urged to check information before planning journeys. Many shops have reduced stock levels due to bulk buying and reduced deliveries. Pictures of long queues outside local stores have also been posted online.
The first buses have begun to resume service for passengers from 12 noon today. There will still be some disruption to some routes and buses will be travelling on main roads with some diversions in place. Dublin Bus has also advised that due to routes operating on main roads and not serving local roads, Real Time Information will not be displayed on their website, apps and on street at bus stops.
Dublin Heuston routes including Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Waterford, Galway, Westport/Ballina will have no service until 5 pm at the earliest due to snow being cleared on the lines. Overline inspections are continuing with Pearse to Greystones remaining closed until further notice due to flooding at Salthill. Service between Pearse & Howth/Malahide due to resume at 2 pm.
The Luas Red Line from The Point to the Red Cow was due to begin at 1 pm, however, this has been delayed with maintenance teams working to clear snow from tracks. A very limited service between Red Cow and Blackhorse will be in operation.
Green Line services are not yet in operation with an opening time yet to be established. All Luas park and ride areas are closed.
AA Roadwatch has said conditions remain very poor in the South and West of the country with an orange weather warning still in place. People have been advised to avoid driving if possible.
Stores plan to open at 1pm except in the following locations which will remain closed – Tallaght, Kilnamanagh, Enniscorthy, Gorey, Blessington, Redmond Square Wexford, Leopardstown, Newtownmountkennedy, Crumlin, Saggart, Edenderry, Thurles, Navan Grocery, Nutgrove, Ilac Centre, Swords, Rathbeale, Nenagh, Roscrea, Dun Laoghaire.
All stores are now open except for the following which are due to open at various times today – Gorey 2pm, Wexford 2pm, New Ross 2pm, Maynooth Extra 2pm, Castlepollard 4pm, Clane 4pm.
These stores are closed with opening times yet to be confirmed – Sandymount, Clondalkin, Ardkeen, Ballybeg, Lisduggan, Poleberry, Tramore.
All Lidl stores in Leinster, Munster and Galway will operate under restricted trading hours from 10am to 6pm today. All other stores will operate as normal from 8am except the following stores – Fortunestown Lane – Closed, Portmarnock Closed, Kinsale Closed.
All Aldi stores are now open except for Clane – opening time to be confirmed, Wexford Town – opening time to be confirmed.
