Disney adaptations can be a bit hit-and-miss on the big screen but Tim Burton may be on to a winner with ‘Dumbo’. The fantasy adventure tale is loosely based on the 1941 Walt Disney version which is one of Disney’s shortest animated films with a running time of 64 minutes.
Burton and screenplay writer Ehren Kruger have assembled a stellar cast including Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito, Michael Keaton, Eva Green and Alan Arkin.
Farrell will play the role of Holt Farrier, a war veteran and former circus star from Kentucky who finds his life turned upside down when he returns from the war. He is hired by Max Medici played by Danny Devito to care for the newborn elephant who Farriers two children then befriend.
Dumbo is set for a worldwide release on March 29th, 2019.
