Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of a male in Ranelagh in the early hours of this morning.
At approximately 4.40am a 22-year-old man was found unresponsive with a head injury outside the Luas stop on Ranelagh Road. He was taken by Ambulance to St James Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The scene is preserved for technical examination and the Coroner has been notified.
A review of local CCTV and results of a post-mortem examination will determine the course of a Garda investigation into the case.
It is the second death in less than 24 hours in the capital following the discovery of another mans body in Lucan yesterday afternoon.
