Its popularity has exploded in recent years and now Ireland’s biggest eSports event is taking place in Dublin’s 3Arena. ‘EStars’ will see gamers face off in a competitive environment on Sunday, May 13th.

Teams have already been doing battle since March 14th. Battles take place in ‘Big Betty’, the world’s first mobile esports arena which is stopping off at one League Of Ireland club each week including Dundalk, Cork, Sligo, Bray, Dublin, Limerick and Derry. The top four teams will then earn themselves a place in the final. The overall winner will not only bag themselves an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas but also claim €20,000.

Competitors will be playing League Of Legends, a massive online multiplayer battle arena which developers Riot say has 27 million daily users. There will also be a chance to meet Sjin and Turps from popular YouTube channel and publisher Yogscast. Tickets for the event are €49.50 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
