If you’ve ever fancied joining the Gardaí now is your chance to apply. An Garda Síochána today announced the launch of a recruitment programme for 800 new trainees.
The description of the role includes functions such as Ensuring our nation’s security,
prevention and detection of crime, enhancing community safety, reducing the incidence of fatal and serious injuries on our roads and improving road safety, working with communities to prevent anti-social behaviour, promoting an inter-agency approach to problem-solving and improving the overall quality of life.
Applicants must be medically and physically ﬁt, have a dedicated sense of community spirit and be empathetic and passionate about helping other people. Women and individuals from minority groups are especially encouraged to consider a career in policing.
You must be 18 years of age but not yet 35 years of age on midnight of the 6th June, 2018 (i.e. born between 4th June 1983 and 6th June 2000). A full list of criteria is available on the Garda website. The closing date this year is 3pm Wednesday 6th June 2018
